beijing internet blocking:/

This article really made me think about what I take for granted. I compared it to U.S. firewalls in schools and at home, and I realized that censorship is a huge problem in Asia. The animated characters are meant to stop Chinese citizens from viewing sites that are blocked by a firewall created by the Chinese government. Because China is under a communist government, they do not want their citizens to see any material stating their belief of communism is bad or imorral.
I was surprised to learn that the Chinese citizens didnt try and find ways around the system. It would seem that this is one of the biggest differences between the Pakistan controversy and the Beijing internet problem.
As I said before, this article stunned me. I just didnt realize that governments could take away that right.
